# Biome

A biome is a plot of land within your [district](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/my-district.md) (*your in-game field*), serving as the home for your [Gattomon](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gattomons.md). On a biome, you can place an [egg](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gattomons/eggs.md) and hatch a Gattomon.

## Choosing a Biome

Each Gattomon has specific biome requirements. For example, Plain Eggs can only hatch in a Plain Biome, while Mountain Creatures require a Mountain Biome.

Additionally, each biome can only house one Gattomon at a time. Keep this in mind when planning your strategy.

## Placing a Biome

1. Select an empty cell in your district
2. Tap on it
3. In the menu that appears, choose the desired biome
4. Confirm the biome placement

If you want to test your luck, select "Random Biome", and fate will decide which terrain appears in that spot.

## Removing a Biome

If you need to free up space on a neighborhood, you can remove unnecessary biomes. To do this:

1. In the upper left corner, find the icon with a car and click on it
2. In the window that opens, click on the “Delete” button
3. Select the biome you want to delete. If it has a pet on it, you will find your gattomon in the warehouse after deleting the biome

{% hint style="info" %}
[Coins](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/my-district/resources.md) spent on a biome will not be refunded, so remove only the biomes you no longer need.
{% endhint %}
