# Personalities

Personality is a unique trait of a [Gattomon](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gattomons.md) that can either benefit it in [battles](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gameplay/pvp-mode-basics.md) or hinder it in every fight.

## Obtaining a Personality <a href="#pnu1ztjtd8ox" id="pnu1ztjtd8ox"></a>

New [Generation](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gattomons/generation.md) 1 Gattomons receive either a General Personality or one specific to their [Biome](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/my-district/biome.md). During [Breeding](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gattomons/breed.md), there is a 34% chance that the offspring will inherit the strongest Personality from its parents.

To check your Gattomon’s Personality, open its menu — the Personality is located in the top-left corner above the [Attributes](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gattomons/attributes.md). If you tap on it, a window will open displaying the name and description of the Gattomon’s Personality.

## **All possible personality traits**

There are now over 40 personality traits added to the game. With [battles](/gatto-or-whitepaper/version-on-english/gameplay/pvp-mode-basics.md) coming out of demo mode, traits will play a role in battles.
